The new representation of the Kingdom of Belgium in Mexico City takes the simple and functional form of a box that stands with a solid yet discrete expression, embraced all-around by verdant trees and landscape. Whilst the programme of the embassy is organised across four levels within the frontal cube-like building; the two residencies of the consuls benefit from a secluded yet green location behind the main volume. By compressing the program vertically; the landscape area is maximised and activated as an extension for the Embassy's public programme, such as events, presentations, dinners, concerts, but likewise eating and working. • In collaboration with Blancas Moran and Arup.
