A transformation of a colonial villa from the 16th century in the city center of Mérida, Yucatan maintains the raw structures of the historical building as ruins. Abstract insertions are added in the form of contemporary elements made of concrete. The project comprises a hotel of 22 rooms with spa, garden, restaurant, bar and several stores at street level. Suites of varying sizes with tall ceilings and radically modern interiors are arranged around 2 large patios with lush sub-tropical greenery, a swimming pool and shaded terraces. The project is scheduled to open in 2024.
